MANILA — United States Army 1st Corps commander, Lt. Gen. Gary J. Volesky on Monday paid a courtesy call on Philippine Army (PA) chief, Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto at the PA headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The visit served as a venue to discuss future US-proposed exercises and trainings between the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and PA forces.
“The open lines of communication that we continue to keep, understanding the limitations that we both have brings us together and will benefit us all,” Volesky said.
During the command briefing, the Army Transformation Roadmap was discussed so that both armies may align their endeavors in implementing further engagement plans.
“The Philippine Army sees every interaction with USARPAC as an opportunity to sustain and expand our combined actions to ensure that our enduring alliance is made even stronger and dynamic. It is clear that as we take up mutual matters of interest, we in fact further strengthen our institutional synergy and bolster goodwill among our forces,” Alberto said. (PNA)
